The Mindset That Makes Your Website Your Best Salesperson

This week, Get Levrg’s Co-founder and CMO, Nazmul Ahmed is taking the wheel to share some of the website-building & designing secrets that worked for him throughout his career as an industry-leading marketer.
He is a seasoned marketing consultant with 15 years of experience. He previously served as CMO at a major company with over 700 employees and as CEO of a web design firm for three years. Additionally, he is a skilled marketing coach and practitioner.
So, let’s jump straight into what he has to say.
As someone who’s spent over 15 years in marketing, building websites that drive results has become second nature to me.
I’ve seen trends come and go, but the fundamentals of a well-designed website remain constant. Whether you’re creating a new site or optimizing an existing one, these principles will ensure your digital presence stands out.
A Balanced Design Mindset
When designing a website, I always think about how it will work for both mobile and desktop users.
Let’s face it: most people’s first interaction with a website happens on their phones. They might click a link in an email or check out a site from a social media post.
If the mobile version is clunky, they’ll probably leave before even considering the desktop experience.
That’s why I prioritize designing for mobile first. It forces the design to be clean, simple, and user-focused. Once that’s done, adapting it for the desktop becomes much easier.
It’s all about creating an experience that works seamlessly across devices.
Welding the Wireframe
When it comes to wireframing and collaboration, Figma is my go-to tool. It’s versatile, intuitive, and great for working with teams, even remotely.
I used Photoshop in the past, but Figma’s functionality and ease of use have made it a crucial part of my website-building workflow. It allows me to quickly prototype ideas and refine them without wasting time.
Usability Over Flair
If I had to choose between a visually stunning website or one that’s incredibly easy to use, I’d pick usability every time.
A site needs to guide users effortlessly, whether they’re searching for information, filling out a form, or making a purchase.
But that doesn’t mean aesthetics don’t matter. A good website balances functionality with a professional, appealing design.
In my experience, focusing 80% of effort on usability and 20% on visuals is the sweet spot. Looking at a designer’s portfolio before hiring them is always a smart move—it gives you a clear sense of what they can deliver.
The Importance of Regular Maintenance
A website isn’t something you set and forget. It’s a part of your business that needs constant attention.
At Get Levrg, we evaluate our website’s performance consistently and make adjustments. Whether it’s removing clutter, adding new features, or improving user flows, these updates keep the site fresh and relevant.
We also do this for our clients under the “Website Maintenance” service. So that they don’t have to keep worrying about their website’s health.
For owners who do not have the budget, it’s critical to take the time to check your site regularly. Don’t wait for a customer to tell you something’s wrong. Make it a habit to look for outdated content, broken links, or anything else that might spoil the user experience.
